This preserve protects the headwater of Cedar Creek and includes a high-quality prairie established in 1972 by the former owners David and Karen Kinnamon. The seeds to establish the prairie were collected from native areas located south of Kenosha along the Wisconsin River, and along bluffs overlooking the Mississippi River. The pond and wetlands are part of a larger wetland complex that extends through nearby Center Lane Preserve and beyond.
