Land Trust of the Year

Hi Everyone,

I’m please to report that in 2011 OWLT was named the Land Trust of the Year by Gathering Waters Conservancy.  We owe a special thanks to Pat Wilmeth for submitting the nomination and to all those that submitted letters of support.

In the words of Gathering Waters:

The Ozaukee Washington Land Trust is one of the state's most productive and innovative land trusts.  To date they've protected nearly 5,000 acres of land in two of Wisconsin's fastest growing counties while engaging young and old alike in education and management activities that serve as a model for all land trusts.

Gathering Waters Conservancy is a statewide service center for Wisconsin's land trust community whose mission is to help land trusts, landowners and communities protect the places that make Wisconsin special.   They accomplish this mission by promoting private, voluntary conservation action and strengthening Wisconsin land trusts.
