Mequon Nature Preserve

Over 400 acres of protected habitat are located within this preserve and are an integral part of the surrounding conservation area of greenspace, wetlands, river corridors and recreational parks. Reforestation of the historic beech-maple forest community, active wetland restoration and collaborative preservation research benefit the re-establishment of natural habitat and improve the ecological function of the soil. Purchased in 2003, the preserve is maintained by the City of Mequon to educate and invite the public to participate in nature-based recreation activities and increase awareness of the conservation process.
