Hepburn Woods
The 19.6 acre Hepburn Woods is situated in the primary environmental corridor that lies along the backbone of the Mid-Kettle Moraine region. Part of the Glacial Blue Hills Natural Area, this property can be accessed from the Ice Age Trail which runs north and south through adjacent woodlands. The glacial landscape of rolling, wooded hills is home to wild turkey, white-tailed deer, and hosts a tremendous variety of migratory songbirds. The extreme topography of glacial ridges and kettles epitomizes the natural beauty and geological significance of this area. Through its volunteer groups OWLT strives to provide and maintain improved trails that allow the public to hike and bird watch. There is an ongoing effort to protect the hardwood forest by continuously removing aggressive invasive species from the area.
